Anyone knows about games like this? I have only one in mind, called American McGee's Bad Day LA. But Anachronox was not only funny, but had a good storyline with its little problems like plotholes etc... but it's still epic. So, anyone has suggestions?

It was one of the few games I'm glad I spent money on. I only wish I didn't stop at 80 percent of the game, as I'd like to know where the MysTech aliens went. As far as games like Anachronox, the latest Final Fantasy games comes to mind. It's what Tom Hall practically based the concept of Anachronox around.

Buying a console was in my mind for a few months now, i'll start work soon anyways, so i think i'll give the FFs a try. And man, you gotta finish that game, the ending is just.... whoa. Just go 100% with it, you won't regret it.

You don't have to get the most recent Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 both have PC versions. You could try out the demo or if you want to risk it, download the torrent.

Have fun with it. ;)

Oh i'm currently playing with 8 and plan to try out 7 again (at first try i didnt know how to heal so i raged and uninstalled it...), i thought you meant X or newer ones. Yeah, FF8 can bring a smile to my face sometimes, and the storyline is, despite of being totally horseshit if we consider logic in it, pretty awesome and gripping. Still have to finish it though, i'm at the end of disc 3 i think (at Lunatic Pandora).

What i need the most now is something that has an okay gameplay at least, and it can make me laugh hard while having a good and gripping plot.

jedi outcast?

lol i jest...

but seriously, if you like the gameplay style of final fantasy, being turn-based, and dont mind the graphics being shoddy, final fantasy 7 is the way to go. the system is a lot easier than 8, and the storyline is a lot bigger with more twists and stuff... its my fav game of all time for that very reason, its hard to find many games with a bigger storyline that arent like 5 game series' and stuff... cos they piss me off royally most the time. i like sequels and prequels, but it would be good if they cud fit more than 1 twist into each game ya know...

Whats wrong with the logic of the storyline of FF8?

At any rate what you need is Vagrant Story, best storyline ever for a PSX game and the gameplay is original at it's finest.
