Peter E.S.
In case any of you want to get the latest and greatest (and perhaps buggiest) Jedi Academy experience out there, you can download recent builds of OpenJK that are release almost every day on OpenJK's Buildbot.Edit-These are NOT stable, public releases. They are more in the "test" phase right now.Link bellow. http://109.200.20.132/one_line_per_build (If you navigate to https://github.com/Razish/OpenJK ,scroll down to the bottom of the page, and select "Buildbot, it will take you to the same website minus the /one_line_per_build.) Click the "Build #", and under the "Steps and Log Files" section, there is a "some-random-letters-&-numbers.zip" file with the OpenJK build packaged within. Simply extract the files into your "GameData" folder. There ya go! It's that easy. However, I have noticed a couple problems: 1. Ultra Utility does NOT seem to work with OpenJK, so bye-bye chatstyles and other cool things 2. OpenJK doesn't seem to use the default ja/jampgame.cfg so all of your binds and settings will not be loaded. The single player binary puts a openjk_sp.cfg in the "base" folder, but, for the life of me, I can't find the mp cfg file. (Edit, it is in Documents/My Games/OpenJK, no idea why it is in such a weird location.) 3. Nothing else at the moment. I also believe you're supposed to be able to play Jedi Outcast with OpenJK, but when I tried, all of the single player fonts were invisible and the multiplayer wouldn't load because it couldn't find something for the "Siege" game type, but maybe this is because I tried using the Macintosh game files. (I don't own the Windows version....no I'm not going to torrent it.) If any of you are feeling adventurous, you could even compile it yourself, although it only seems to work on Windows at the time of writing. Trust me, I've tried on Linux and OS X. Anyway, have fun all.
Sephy
Technically, it's not a public release. It's in a stage where it's for coders and modders to toy with.
