Halo reach

I bought ODST for 2 reasons:

1. The single player brings a new experience to, in my opinion, a good story line.

2. Halo Reach Beta.

I, for one, am excited to play the Halo reach beta. you finally get to play the infamous Spartans of which only 1 survives the beginning of the war.

Bleh I played every one of them through my friends and when they came out on PC. To be honest the HALO series has been on a very steep decline and Microsoft is just trying to force Bungie to produce games before they have to resign. It'll be the same story reskinned to use the Spartans I'll probably play it but I dont really look forward to it.

Even if game will be good here are 3 reasons i will not buy it:

1.Fucking Xbox360 overheats too much...Like after 10 hours of nonstop playing you can say goodbye too it..Cmon Microsoft a better cooling system maybe???

2.Halo series developed from medicore shooter for PC.First one was good,Secend was decent and Third on XBox 360 was only good for Multiplayer.

3.We are again in same storyline but with diffrent characters and that reallly ruins my experience.

Now PC>PS3>PS2>PSP>PS1>Game Boys>XBox>Xbox360  :verka:

They fixed the heating issues awhile back.

First one was good, the second one sucked imo, third one was only good for multiplayer really, but it was always a multiplayer experience.

Honestly, if you've ever read the Halo based novels there's a gigantic and fantastic storyline that doesn't focus upon Master Chief. That's where they're going with this, they're trying to bring in the storyline from the novels, which were expertly written by well known fantasy-scifi authors. So they have plenty of room to maneuver from a storyline standpoint.

Also, after ODST i'll be honest i didn't expect Reach to be halfway interesting to me. I thought ODST was a load of shit for 60 bucks, considering i only played it for a month or two. But now looking at all the videos for the experience in the new game, it look like they honestly started straight from scratch with the combat system. Same games, so it'll still have that flare i've enjoyed in the past 3, but with a whole mess of new and innovative idea worked in. The options of loadouts take from CoD, combined with itemization like from other classic shooters should be an amazing combination within the halo universe.

I honestly can't wait for the beta considering all i've seen of it so far. Seriously, lookup the videos on it, i was a skeptic as well until i started watching them.

Omg someone besides me has read the Halo novels :wallbash:

I also read however, that Halo Reach will NOT be Eric Nylund's The Fall of Reach. It was in uh.. GameInformer I think. I bought ODST for the story. I love the Halo story. I gave up on the Halo multiplayer, was too easy/hard at the same time if that makes any sense. The halo story is really cool if you get into it and read the books. I do plan on buying Halo Reach for the story, I'm quite excited to play with the new combat systems and learning about the new characters they're introducing.

I did read in that GameInformer's article that the majority of your squad are Spartan III's which is further proof that they are not following the books at all with this game. For those that don't know, Master Chief and his Spartans were Spartan II's. The ones that died on Reach in the books were Spartan II's.

@DS

I'm still waiting for the surviving Spartans to show up in the games, Idk why they haven't. Hoping for Kelly to show up with Halsley as well. WTB another Halo book!

this game doesnt particularly excite me mainly because im just done with the halo series after halo 3 and to me, these other games like reach and odst are just half-assed marketing tools (and yet they still make millions). well thats make take on the whole thing anyway
