Server profile Problem...

Recommended Posts

Everytime i try to edit my profile while logged in a get an qhite screen with this error at the top

Fatal error: Incompatible file format: The encoded file has format major ID 3, whereas the Loader expects 4 in /home/jediphoe/public_html/admin/applications/forums/extensions/usercpForms.php on line 0

Is there a reason why i cant edit my profile or some way i can fix this ?

Ew.

Apparently they updated the PHP language version during that server migration. There's a few things in the Admin area that are doing the same thing. As it's both on a shared server and I no longer control the billing account to get the new FTP info, there's not much I can do about it at the moment.

In the meantime, you can PM an admin (Yellow or blue names) with whatever you want to change and they can do it for you.

But yea guys i was talking about the forums. Thanks emylii, I just wanted to look at my profile stuff and see what i might want to change. If i really want to change something I'll surely PM an admin, but I'm patient. Thanks for the info.

If everything works out well, this will be resolved soon. Thank you for posting as I almost never edit my profile and wouldn't have noticed.

I'll update this when the issue dealt with.

Sounds good Nikos. No problem, that's why I'm here, help out and get to know everyone :)

You'll have to pardon my ignorance since I read that topic title and couldn't be bothered reading the rest. Alternatively, it could have been an ignorance joke that was taken seriously.

It's really very funny how poorly some scripts handle php version upgrades. From what I remember, IPB 2 and VB3 had the same problems when you used anything but 5.2 or anything in that version subset.

Always seems to be a popular issue among forum scripts...

What makes it funny is that 5.2 has been obsolete and unsupported for the past.. Four years? Yet its still the most widely compatible and thus, usable version. It's like the XP of web scripting languages. T.T

Yep... I was working on a website a few months back, and they wanted me to try and skin a website and forum to use a general static width, along with all of the header and navigation. VB flipped a dick, because I was using the most up-to-date php script in my local host. :|

Luckily, WAMP was smart, and allowed you to download the more popular older versions on their website as plugins.
