If you could go back in time to a specific time period, what would it be?

I would go back to ancient Rome in A.D. 80. Opening of the Colosseum's inaugural games, would get front row seats :laugh: (If I was important enough)

 

With my current knowledge? Ancient Egypt. I'd be a god amongst men. Also, people I know now take vacations to Egypt and If they see my tomb they would go, "What the shit, Suli".

Well first of all, I wouldn't get involved with time travel to begin with cause shit gets crazy when you start to approach the speed of light. Not to mention the theory that you can't travel back before the time machine was created <_>

 

Second of all, I think i'd much rather to into the future to either [a] travel through space like a boss or check out all the cool shit in the future.

 

And lastly, hypothetically, if I were to travel back in time.... idk it'd be a toss up between the early 20th century what with Einstein and all or some time in the distant pass, maybe not dinosaur type distant but distant enough to where Earth would be "unspoiled" so to speak.

Time travel would only be interesting to me if it came with a side of immortality, or if it could be used multiple times such as a T.A.R.D.I.S

 

In which case I would go 2,450 million years ago and selectively breed the species and plant life to my whim, eventually harness the power of interstellar space flight, and dip around the universe godmodeing planets.

 

I'd play a lot of spore essentially.

While I am very curious about the future, I don't think Id want to see it before it naturally comes to me during the present.

I could be disappointed, or I could be major spoiled. Neither fits my interests.

The problem is, everywhere in the past could be very dangerous. Someone could see you appear out of nowhere ( if thats how it would work ), you could be introduced to a hanging, a clubbing, a musket shot and so on. It makes you realize how stable things are for us at the moment. Not to say people wouldn't react differently now if you appeared out of nowhere, but in general.

if i can choose then definately i would like to go back to hippie time

well maybe this is happening soon, cuz people say sun energy will destroy earth in next year and then we are back from zero

cannabis will grow and people are happy lol

To those interested, one of my lecturers produces a video series about physics (though not in tedious detail, just the interesting parts).

 

The one pertaining to time-travel is also about Portal 2, which ought to pique your interest (no spoilers involved).

 

Riiiiight here:

The lecturer in question is the Irish one, an absolute legend btw.

 

Check out the rest of the series too, they're reasonably entertaining and factual.

this one, seriously why would you want to go to a period in time other that this one, i admit the roman empire was great and all but anyone with 3 hours on their hands could create rome in its entirety in minecraft.

Yeah I wish they would make more games set during the Roman Republic/Empire...Only one I can think of is Rome Total War. Not to mention they had epic names: Cassius Longinus being one of them rofl.

Definately with you on this one! Or I am also iffy on the renaissance. Even though I love it there was alot of sickness people were constantly calling others heritics. The only good thing about the era was people that were somewhat schooled or had a craft were able to make large advancements.
