TRON
Very angry that I need to write such things, but to my regret to say that your server is beneath criticism. Still can not figure out why the lag is so huge compared to European countries. I checked the other servers and many people gave me a competent opinion that no problem is that from where a host of how it is created the server itself. If in the future do something for the server which does not receive huge lag please write me a personal message here anyway because i find pleasant people with whom to play. Pulp
If you live in Europe, and the server is hosted in Minnesota USA, You are going to get lag. Derpa herpa nerpa.
Asulynn
If you live in Europe, and the server is hosted in Minnesota USA, You are going to get lag. Pretty much this. Let me put it into perspective, though. http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/4945/25525295.png You are point B, the server is point A. That is roughly 5,000 miles (8,000 Kilometers) distance and that is assuming a direct route. In reality, however, information sent from your computer to our server is going to be routed across the entire frikkin' continent before it even hopes to make its way to the U.S, let alone to our server. Then it has to travel back to your computer. With a small amount of it lost. That's also leaving out that Windows (and Mac, for that matter) is retarded in how it handles packets by default which adds even more of a lag time to it. All of which contributing to your high latency and most of which that neither you or we can fix.
Kable
You make a great point Sarah. @TRON - Re-reading your post multiple times, I think I understand what you're trying to say.Essentially what Sarah/Emy is saying to you is this -- the location of the server matters about as much as your owninternet speed, when it comes to getting a good latency on a particular server. Given your current location, and the location of the server -- there is no possible way to tweak our own settingsto further benefit your latency specifically. The server itself is designed to be of the highest quality that I personally have seenin a long time when it comes to JKA servers. I hope the information you have been provided is sufficient enough to you, for you to understand that if there was somethingthat we could do, we would do it. However, its more of an issue with your distance from the server, then server settings or anything of that nature.
Zan
http://i55.tinypic.com/t7zy4p.jpg Well, to be fair i'm kinda far away too, altough i get 200ms average on the server i experience no lag whatsoever. Granted, the hops might be different and all but yeah, there isn't an easy way to solve this. What you might try though (but expect no permament solution out of it) is playing the game on a friend's house with a different ISP to see if that improves a little bit. Routing is another factor involved. And by routing, I believe Sarah explained this --The connection from the server to your computer and vise-verse. In some cases, internet has to re-route to different locations to establish a connection, and sometimesthere is more of just a straight shot to the server. I live in ATL, GA and I rock a 60-90 ping on a typical day, now that's about 1/6th of the distance for you Zan, but I only have half the ping you do. So essentially, distance isn't the only factor but it is a large one.

SierraEx
I'm sorry, but you have no right to complain about lag. Here's a map showing the distance from you to server and me to server http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/1852/mapvg.jpg you are the red line I'm the blue, I've put your red line next to my blue one to show how much further away i am. constantly have a 250+ ping meaning my actions on my computer take a while to register on the server, so i could swing, and it would appear so from my point of view but those on the server would see it maybe 1 or 2 seconds after, it's not that big of a deal.
