I've got to here, and I'm not sure what else to do now. It looks a bit empty to me.

Imo, the focal is blended in a bit too much, it doesn't stand out. The effects are awesome, I like it. Borders sometimes help with that kind of thing too.

 

Maybe try to do some burning/dodging/blurring to create some depth to it, and add some spice to the focal.

Those lines on the right could be blurred very lightly so that your focal is the area which is in focus, but your flow is good so far. Your use of the orange/purple gradient is obvious, so perhaps use some photo filters or other gradient maps to soften it a bit.

Orange/purple was meant to be obvious. Behind that, it's in black and white.

Use blur tool on the right side to add some depth (or use the gaussian blur and set from 0.1-0.5)

Maybe sharpen the main focal using smart sharpen on an image apply and around it.

 

This should help create some depth and i guess that might help it help it a bit more. I don't think you should add anything though, else it might look too busy.
