Sev
OK so over the years there has yet to be a GOOD transformers game, [the ATARI transformers game for ps2 is an exception ] or at least one that didnt suckWar for cybertron breaks that trend finally. this is a kind of long review so you might just wanna skim through it Story -In the campaign mode for war for cybertron there are two stories, each taking about 6 to 7 hours each to complete depending on how long you play themThe Decepticon's story takes place before the autobots one, so there is incentive to play both campaigns [the decepticon one is simply winsauce] the overall plot is that megatron wants to use dark energon to corrupt cybertron, mean while the autobots launch a counter offensive strike in order to destroy the dark energon source and save the planet. much of the narrative is done during the gameplay, with cutscenes at key parts the cool part about the stories is it shows how everyone met. It shows how Optimus became a Prime and how he met bumblebee.it shows why megatron keeps starscreams worthless hide around all in all its worth playing even if it is a little on the short sideGameplay -War for Cybertron is a 3rd person shooter, with 2 companions AI or human helping you in each missionthere are intense fire fights in the game, though there isnt a cover system, youll want to get behind something to avoid getting owned. you'll have have to use the environment to you advantage if you want to survive every character can transform from vehicle to normal mode at any time, though when you change into vehicle mode the controls change enough where you need to adjust to it [the animations are awesome ] you can also swap out weapons any time The controls all in all are pretty good and wont give you issues each character has a unique secondary weapon and abilities, offensive classes can do brutal melee attacks, defensive classes can heal allies and set up barrierswhen you transform into vehicle more a new set of weapons and abilities are available Multiplayer -there are 6 versus modes with 7 maps for eachthe modes are Deathmatch, Conquest, Code of Power, Countdown to Extinction, Power Struggle You can make your very own transformer customizing their loadout and choosing from 4 classes, Scout, Scientist, Leader, or Soldier each with unique weapons and abilities that are unlocked as you level up Graphics -The Graphics IMO are pretty goodthe Transformers are the designs of the Generation 1 Cartoons are are brought to life in the game [sorry but no Micheal bay designs here bishes] the faults people might have with it is cybertron itselfCybertron looks exactly like a robot world would look like, and the graphics bring it even more to life, but some might complain that the colors of the world might get a little repetitive, it isnt a factor for me but still, it might attain to some Sound - The soundtrack fits the game perfectly and the voice actors are awesome, i honestly cant say any of them suck :D [starscream's megatron's and optimus's are best ] you'll find yourself wanting to listen to every random conversation during gameplay My Verdict -This is a transformers game that is actually good, the developers tried really hard on this onethe only fault some might have is the repetitive designs of cybertron, and the gameplay can get repetitive for some My Score - 8.5/10 a good buy, a awesome rent
