Cmdr. Zap
So it looks like, much to most people's surprise, CA is going to return to feudal Japan for the next TW release. I must confess, I was hoping for either an American Civil War or Rome centered TW game, but this could also be pretty cool. It will be nice to have a replacement for Shogun 1, which no longer works on most computers. Here is the website. Thoughts?
Sharp
there was already a Rome TW, but Civil War will be next
Cmdr. Zap
True, there has been a Rome TW already, but CA is clearly very fond of sequels, and Rome 1 is getting a bit dated. It's still incredibly epic, and doesn't need to be replaced nearly as badly as shogun did. Personally, I'd love to see an ACW total war game, but there really doesn't seem to be that much demand for it.

Unless you made multiple worlds for what was going on at diff parts of the world then.

Unless you made multiple worlds for what was going on at diff parts of the world then.I agree. A civ total war WOULD be epic, but impossibly huge. The only way it could avoid being too massive and complicated to be realistically made would be to brush over all the different time periods (as the civ series itself does), which would be a bad trade off IMHO. Total war is really good a doing relatively smaller and shorter periods with great accuracy and detail. Still, perhaps a few years down the road game tech will have advanced enough to allow a game to cover all of history throughout the entire world with the same great detail we've come to expect from Total War. We can always hope, anyway
